The property of divorcing spouses is divided in every judgment of annulment, divorce or legal separation.
Is property equally divided?
The law presumes that everything will be divided equally, but assets shown to be gifts from third parties or inheritance are not subject to division. The court can deviate from an equal division in certain circumstances.
